MY STORY
I’m Melvin Lindsay, son of a second generation seamstress. I like to believe that I inherited my mother’s eye for color, style, and creative designs. Almost every weekend of my childhood years I would awake to sound of scissors cutting fabric and sewing machines operating at full tilt. Back then, I didn't fully understand my mother’s joy at actually making something from scratch with her own hands. Today, I do. Though my mother passed away in 2015, she passed on to me a passion to dream big and to never stop creating. She also left me an overflow of new and vintage buttons and other accessories that I now turn into cufflinks!
So now, as a custom designer and curator of men's and women's cufflinks, I get to experience the joy of making things that never existed before. My company, R.J.LEM was born and exists in memory of one of the most outgoing and creative women I have ever known, my mom. I hope that you will join me on this wonderful journey. As I build my inventory you will see all kinds of things in the store ranging from the simple and elegant to the OMG, “No he didn't!”.
